
* Penny Ikinger returns to Sydney for a one-off show with her all-star band for the I-94 Bar Club.
* Deniz Tek joins Jim Dickson and John Fenton as Penny's backing band.
* Also on the bill are Loose Pills (featuring members of The Scruffs, the New Christs, The Eastern Dark and Happy Hate Me Nots) and Redundant Technology.
* Doors at 7.30pm and admission is 12 bucks.
* Deniz is deep into his new solo album. The initial sessions in Montana have been followed by overdubs in New York and Australia. Andy Newman will be adding bass to several tracks over the next few weeks. The song list is still in flux. Den has pulled two tracks, originally recorded for a series of short ski films, off the shelf to rework.
*Meanwhile work on the long awaited Radio Birdman Box Set continues.

* Deniz Tek will be performing live in the studio on NYC's WFMU's Three Chord Monte. Host Joe Belock has invited Deniz to sit in on Thursday August 25th, from noon to 3pm (EDT). You can listen live on line here: www.wfmu.org
* It has also been announced that Keith Streng, guitar player of the Fleshones, will be a special guest at all 3 of Deniz' East Coast gigs joining the band for several Radio Birdman numbers.
* Crying Sun Records has just released the Radio Birdman - Live In Texas on vinyl. This 13 track release is limited to 500 copies. A download card for the full 16 track album is included.
